The Income Tax Act and the Family Law Act identify a Common Law couple differently.   • The Family Law team is experienced in the adoption process. They will assist you to assure that the adoption of your new loved one is prepared and brought before a Court.
  • In order to travel with a child outside of Ontario a Statutory Declaration or Consent for Travel by the custodial parent(s) is required when minor children are travelling with one parent, or a non parent. With a Statutory Declaration and Consent for Travel, you will be in compliance with the advice of Foreign Affairs Canada. Below are some of the situations where such documentation is required.

    • Consent for parents to travel with children (Separated or not)
    • Married parents travelling with their children without their spouse
    • Separated or divorced parents travelling with their children
    • Grandparents and other relatives wanting to travel with children that are not their own.
